[Fantasy Sports 2.0] NCAA Tournament Facebook App getting lambasted by users
As reported by Techcrunch, users of the popular CBS Sports/Facebook application that allows picks of NCAA basketball tournament brackets is coming under fire for not working properly. For instance, the brackets on Facebook were showing that Texas A&M had lost to BYU, when in fact the opposite occurred, Texas A&M won that game. This was followed by some pretty choice words by Facebook users who had errors in their brackets as a result.
Check out a quote from a user who wrote to Facebook from the Techcrunch article:
..If you refresh your bracket a few times, you’ll see different calculations for your current score.
People commenting on the CBSSports app are saying some pretty harsh things about the app. I can’t blame them. This is supposed to be an application that awards $10,000. If they can’t get the math right enough to tell me my score, how can I know they’re picking the right person? Come on CBS, didn’t your coders actually test the program before you deployed it?
I guess when you’ve got money at stake, it raises the stakes of the game. Facebook and CBS Sports have got some explaining (and coding) to do to fix the problem, if and when they respond remains to be seen.
